Arrest after couple stabbed dead in robbery

A MAN suspected of stabbing an old couple to death while robbing their house faces arrest four and a half years after the crime.

Prosecutors in Minhang District yesterday ratified the arrest of Shen Husheng, who admitted he stole 1,000 yuan (US$147) from the victims' home and stabbed them to death after they realized they had been robbed, Shanghai Morning Post reported today.

Shen fled the scene and left Shanghai soon after the crime on April, 27, 2005, the report said.

The couple's son discovered their bodies the next day covered in knife wounds.

Shen was finally caught in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province in September this year, when police allegedly found his DNA matched that of the suspect.
