Unknown winner claims biggest lottery jackpot

CHINA'S biggest ever lottery prize winner claimed the jackpot of almost 360 million yuan yesterday but the identity of the winner is still unknown.

The winning ticket was bought in Anyang City in central China's Henan Province. The provincial Welfare Lottery center confirmed today that the winner has claimed the gigantic prize and said they would provide more details at a press conference this afternoon.

It was reported that the center would try to persuade the winner to accept interviews, but that seems unlikely, according to sina.com.

The nondisclosure of the winner's identity aroused suspicion about the credibility of the country's lottery industry. However, a winner's personal information should remain secret under China's lottery regulations.
