EIGHT people have been jailed for between two and five years for disrupting public order after the death of a chef in Shishou City, central China's Hubei Province, in June.

The brothers and cousin of 24-year-old Tu Yuangao, whose body was found lying at the gate of a local hotel, blocked traffic while demanding compensation from the hotel, leaving 62 police and security guards injured and damaging 16 police vehicles.

An autopsy and X-rays and tests for poisons carried out by experts from the Ministry of Public Security showed Tu committed suicide.
