THE number of job openings on 51job.com, a Nasdaq-listed headhunting firm, increased 12.7 percent last month compared to June. More than 960,000 jobs were available last month.

Shanghai remained the biggest seeker of talent among major cities on China's mainland, with sales agents and software engineers most in demand.
