THE country's first traditional Chinese medicine platform is striving to help more TCM patents transfer into drug products.
The Chinese Website, www.tcmtp.com, launched by Pudong New Area Intellectual Property Right Protection Center, aims to match domestic research institutions' laboratory achievements with drug producers.
Since its trial run started last May, only three cases have been matched, though the platform has attracted about 140 enterprise members and about 60 research institution members who have contributed about 500 TCM projects so far.
"New drugs' clinical trials require great time and input," said platform director Zhang Lei.
A panel consisting of about 70 TCM experts has been set up to appraise new drug projects and introduce those with promise to companies.
