RENOWNED Chinese scholar Ji Xianlin died of illness at the age of 98 in Beijing today, said a report from the People's Daily online.
Ji, a native of east China's Shandong Province, was born on Aug.6, 1911. He was a well-known linguist, translator and researcher on Indian literature and history.
