Soldiers and volunteers carry rocks to reinforce the Kama Reservoir dam in Luocheng County in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The dam started to discharge flood water on Thursday night, but continued rain pushed up water levels, causing the structure to crack and finally collapse last night. More than 140 people were stranded and over 7,000 others evacuated. |
