Moderate quake hits southwest China

AN earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale jolted Mianzhu City, southwest China's Sichuan Province at 2:03 am today, said the national seismological network.

The epicenter was located at 31.4 degrees north latitude and 104.1 degrees east longitude.

Mianzhu was one of the hardest-hit places in last year's devastating May 12 quake in Sichuan.
