THE World Heritage Committee is reviewing the latest list of applicants. 30 new properties have been submitted. They include Mount Songshan and Mount Wutai in China.

One of the properties is Germany's Dresden Elbe Valley. The committee will decide whether to remove it from the List because of the building of a bridge in the heart of the landscape.

The nine-day meeting will also review the state of conservation for the 178 current sites, as well as the state of conservation of the 30 properties on the Danger List.

It may also decide to add to new properties whose preservation requires special attention.
