THE Shanghai Health Bureau reported three swine flu cases yesterday, the largest number of new cases in a single day.
To date, 17 cases have been detected in Shanghai. The latest was an 18-year-old Chinese woman who was studying in Canada. The Nanjing native flew to Shanghai via Tokyo and was found to have a fever when she arrived at Pudong International Airport on Thursday night.
The 15th case is a 12-year-old Chinese girl who arrived in Shanghai from Chicago on Thursday. She started to develop a fever on Friday and is now in Fudan University's Children's Hospital.
The 16th is a 23-year-old Chinese man who flew from Toronto on Wednesday and fell ill on Friday.
