A primary school student splashes in a puddle in downtown Shanghai yesterday as rainstorms hit most areas of the city. The bad weather forced the cancellation of 20 departing and 14 arriving flights at Pudong International Airport. Forecasters said the rain will stop today and good weather will last into the weekend. Nationwide, heavy rain has buffeted Guangdong and Hunan provinces and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from last Saturday, killing at least 23 people. More wet weather is expected in Guangdong, Hunan and Jiangxi provinces and in Guangxi. |
