NEW Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, his wife and a security guard remained in healthy condition yesterday after they were placed under precautionary swine flu quarantine on Sunday in a Nanhui area hotel.

James Ross, deputy director of Nagin's press office and one of the three staffers accompanying the mayor on a 10-day trip to China and Australia, told Shanghai Daily yesterday that no decision had been made on whether Nagin's travel schedule would change.

The mayor arrived in Shanghai on Saturday and had planned to spend a few days here pursuing possible economic cooperation between investors in the two river cities before flying to Sydney today for a summit on global climate change and to meet with potential business investors there.

The Nagins and the bodyguard were quarantined because they had been sitting close to a Frenchman, one of two passengers who were later confirmed as swine flu patients, on a flight from Newark, New Jersey.
