CHANGNING District police have caught a man who swindled taxi drivers out of more than 10,000 yuan (US$1,462) worth of cash and cell phones, police said yesterday.
Wang allegedly asked to be taken to high-end office areas and told drivers to wait. He "borrowed" money or phones from them, leaving fake jewelry or mortgage papers as a guarantee, but never returned.
