Viaduct in Zhuzhou demolished after partial collapse kills 9

This 2,750-meter viaduct is demolished at noon in central China. Part of the 15-year-old viaduct on Hongqi Road in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province, collapsed on May 17 as it was being dismantled, killing nine people and crushing 24 vehicles below.

A 15-YEAR-OLD viaduct was demolished today in this central China city, 10 days after part of the viaduct collapsed killing nine people and injuring 16 others.

The 2,750-meter-long viaduct on Hongqi Road in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province, was demolished by controlled detonation at 11:30 a.m., the municipal government said.

A 160-meter section in the central part of the viaduct collapsed on May 17 at 4:24 pm as it was being dismantled, crushing 24 vehicles below.
