A METRO Line 3 train broke down in the rush hour this morning at Jinshajiang Road Station.

The breakdown happened at 8:29am when the train was traveling south from Changjiang South Road Station to Shanghai South Railway Station. Metro operators said the train suffered a brake failure and the train was pulled out of operation, according to an Eastday.com report.

Trains started running again six minutes later but many passengers were delayed.

Yesterday, also in the morning rush hour, a Metro Line 1 train was stopped for 10 minutes at North Zhongshan Road Station because one of the doors would not close. Line 1 operations were back to normal at 8:50am after passengers got off and the train was taken away to be repaired.
