A smile on Mother's Day

Tang Qingping, a 63-year-old earthquake survivor, receives a flower from volunteer Yu Yang in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province, yesterday, the first Mother's Day since last year's May 12 earthquake. Volunteers sent carnations and plants to 354 mothers who lost their children and 265 mothers who lost their husbands in the disaster. They hope the special celebrations can help those mothers to emerge from the shadow that the disaster has cast over their lives.
