NI Lingmei, vice mayor of Huzhou city in east China's Zhejiang Province, died after falling from the 29th story of a building early today, according to local police.
The Huzhou Public Security Bureau received a report at 12:53 am today that a person had been found dead after falling from a residential building.
The police confirmed that the deceased was the vice mayor of Huzhou, but declined to give details.
The police said a team headed by a deputy mayor would investigate the incident.
