FRANCE'S Rhone-Alps region yesterday signed a contract with Expo organizers to showcase Lyon's energy-efficient street-lighting systems.
The lighting will be showcased in the 2,500-square-meter Rhone-Alpes Pavilion in the Puxi section of the Expo site. The pavilion will also feature Vegetation Purification Technology, which will allow it to purify its own air.
The region's lighting systems will also be widely used in the Urban Best Practices Area.
Some of the region's environmental-protection work will also be shown.
This is the first time the Rhone-Alps region has participated in a World Expo.
