SUZHOU plans to distribute 500,000 discount tourist coupons beginning this weekend in Beijing.

Later the coupons will be handed out at Dalian, Shanghai and other cities in the Yangtze Delta Region.

The coupons offer discounts of 30 to 70 percent at 70 tourist attractions and 60 hotels until June, Oriental Morning Post reported today. Hangzhou and Changzhou have already distributed discount coupons in Shanghai.

Famous scenic spots like Huqiu and the ancient towns of Tongli and Zhouzhuang are part of the deal.

To avoid the distribution chaos experienced in Shanghai earlier this month, the bureau has prepared well and has sought help from police and urban management offices.

The bureau plans to set up a website to promote village travel in the city. People will be able to download discount coupons from next month.
