City free from bird flu cases

THERE were no human bird flu infections detected in Shanghai even though several cases were reported across the country in the past month, city government spokesman Chen Qiwei said yesterday.

Health authorities have launched a 24-hour daily bird flu reporting system. Authorities will also check markets with live poultry and employ specialists to check food.
