MARTA, two-time FIFA women's player of the year, is joining the new women's league in the United States.

The 22-year-old Brazilian striker says she will be play for the Los Angeles Sol of the Women's Professional Soccer league. Marta announced the move yesterday before the FIFA World Player Gala in Zurich, Switzerland. She is favored to win for a third straight year.
