CHINA Guodian Corp, the nation's third-biggest power producer, started building a 4.5-billion-yuan (US$658 million) coal-fired plant in the southern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to help stimulate the economy.
The plant, located in the regional capital of Nanning, will have two generating units of 600 megawatts each in the first phase of the project, the Beijing-based company said in a statement on its Website yesterday. The second phase will add two units of 1,000 mw each.
