PUDONG New Area police said yesterday they had caught a man and a woman who had been stealing spare tires from parked cars. Police officer Zhou Jianbin spotted a man carrying a tool used to pry open car trunks.

Zhou knew criminals involved in thefts from cars usually had partners so he followed him. The man was picked up by a woman in a car. Police caught them in possession of four spare tires and the tool was also found in their car.
