FOUR men in northern China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region have been detained for allegedly abducting a police officer and raping his girlfriend last Wednesday.
The four were also among a group of 11 suspects under investigation for alleged auto theft and robberies worth nearly 1 million yuan (US$145,000) since July, Nmgnews.com.cn reported today.
The four reportedly abducted the officer, who was identified as Li, and his girlfriend about 11:30pm in Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia.
Three kidnapped Li at knifepoint after he got out of his black Honda. They stabbed Li on the arm and leg after Li revealed his identity, the Website said.
Li was also beaten at the scene, while his girlfriend was raped in Li's car twice, the report said.
They stole Li's six mobile phones, 10,000 yuan, his police badge and his driver's license.
Li was thrown into the trunk of his car and taken to a local crematory.
He was beaten again and they allegedly took his bank cards, the report said.
Meanwhile, Li's girlfriend was taken by the other suspect and allegedly raped three more times at a small cinema.
The suspects left the victims, who found their way home later the next day, the report said
They both went to hospital and were released after treatment that day.
Inner Mongolia police stopped the black Honda on Friday and caught the alleged leader of the four suspects. He was identified as Zhang in the report.
Three others were later apprehended in their residences.
Based on their confession, police caught the other 7 members of the gang on Sunday, the report said.
