Fuel surcharges drop on some flights

SEVERAL domestic and foreign airlines have reduced fuel surcharge on flights from China to Japan and the United States.

According to Ctrip.com, China Eastern Airlines, Air China and All Nippon Airways (Japan) will decrease fuel surcharges on a single flight between China and Japan from US$77 to US$56 from January 1.

On Friday, United Airlines reduced fuel surcharges from US$165 to US$140 for a single journey and from US$330 to US$280 for a round trip on trans-Pacific flights originating on the Chinese mainland.

Qantas Airways also reduced fuel surcharges on flights from the Chinese mainland to Oceania. The surcharge dropped from US$160 to US$143 for a single journey on Wednesday.
