POLICE in Inner Mongolia are investigating three people who allegedly abducted a policeman and his girlfriend last week, a newspaper reported today.
A policeman and his girlfriend were abducted about 11pm on December 10 in Hohhot, the capital city of Inner Mongolia, according to an Inner Mongolia News report.
The suspects stole the police officer's car, 10,000 yuan (US$1,460) and mobile phone.
The police officer asked the suspects to stop after revealing his profession, but the suspects allegedly said policemen were their target, according to the report.
The officer and his girlfriend escaped the next day. He received knife wounds to the legs and arms when he fought the suspects, the report said.
Police caught the three suspects on Saturday, which lead to the discovery of an alleged 15-member ring, the newspaper said.
All the properties lost in the hijack have been recovered and police are investigating the case.
