AN operating table in Huangpu District Central Hospital caught fire during an operation yesterday morning and left Zheng, a 37-year-old Shanghai woman, with burns on her back.
The victim, who was under local anaesthetic, shouted out that her back was hot and theater staff quickly put out the fire. Authorities said faulty wiring was the likely cause of the fire.
