A "Teach For China" program will be started by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) next February when colleges start a new semester, Program Chief Yu Wei said yesterday.
The program will be run by UNESCO's International Research and Training Center for Rural Education.
The center will enroll the first group of 12 college graduates who are expected to teach for two years in elementary and middle schools in backward areas and in schools for children of migrant workers in cities.
Applicants will go through procedures such as a written test, interview and role play, Yu said, and the successful candidates will be trained from July to August.
