Man attempts to 'blast off' bridge in Chongqing

A MAN bound himself with bottles full of gas and claimed he was going to “blast off” of Wenxingwan Bridge in Chongqing Municipality this morning, a provincial news Website reported.

A witness said the man appeared on the bridge about 7am this morning and stood on top of a green taxi.

Police blocked the site and took the man away by 10am.

Traffic has since returned to normal, the report said.
