PREMIER Wen Jiabao yesterday spoke over the phone with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown about the international financial crisis.

Wen said the Chinese government had already taken a series of policy measures to further expand domestic demand, and would continue doing so to safeguard the stability of the economy and the financial and capital markets.

Wen said the Chinese government would support the reforms initiated by international financial organizations, and was looking forward to the G20 summit on the financial crisis next Saturday in Washington.

Brown said Britain hailed the highly effective efforts by the Chinese government amid trying international times.
