Couple killed at home in Minhang District

A MARRIED couple was killed at their home in Shanghai’s Minhang District on Sunday, Xinmin.cn reported today.

The couple, surnamed Du and Huang, was killed about 8pm on Sunday in Pujiang Town of Minhang District. Residents said a suspect was seen leaving the couple’s home that night, according to the report.

The couple lived in a two-story villa and across the courtyard was a clinic, where the man Du treated patients.

According to the report, a man brought his sick wife to see Dr Du about 8pm on Sunday. When they approached Du’s courtyard, a man on his way out asked him to wait for a while. He entered the courtyard a few minutes later and found Dr Du lying in a pool of blood and his wife Huang dead in the living room of the villa.

The man called police immediately and the case is under investigation, according to the report.

Neighbors told the newspaper they were shocked by the killings as both Dr Du and Huang were very friendly to others.

Another neighbor said Dr Du was in his fifties and from Shandong Province while his wife was in her forties and sold cosmetics. The couple had three children, according to the report.
