New travel rules for journalists

THE State Council's Taiwan Affair's Office has announced a revised regulation for Taiwan journalists in the mainland.

Under the new rules, Taiwan journalists should apply for a travel permit to enter and exit the mainland and should ask for permission from the individual or organization they wish to interview. They should carry press cards for identification.

They can hire assistants through authorized agencies.
