WET weather and slippery road surfaces were blamed for dozens of car accidents that left at least one person dead in Shanghai today.
An unidentified person was killed and 34 others were injured when a BMW collided with a bus near an exit to Xinfengjin Expressway in Jinshan District, Xinmin.com reported.
The injured including an Indian woman and her son. They are being treated at Fengxian District People’s Hospital.
The bus was registered in Zhejiang Province and most of its passengers were seniors on a tour, according to the report.
There were four accidents on the Outer Ring Road this morning including a pile-up at 7:10am that involved four vehicles.
In another, a truck smashed into a concrete barrier near Fengxiang Exit in Baoshan District at 7:50am. It backed up traffic for more than one hour, the report said.
Five vehicles piled up near Huqingping Highway Exit at 11:25am and five minutes later a similar accident involving six cars occurred near Caobao Road Exit, the report said.
