Gunman flees

ONE person was injured after a gunman robbed a jewelry shop in downtown Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, on Tuesday, police said.

Witnesses said a young man charged into the Hualian Mall on Jianshe Road around 7:20pm. He held a hammer in one hand and a gun in the other, they said. He fired two shots before fleeing on an electric bicycle.
