WORLD Expo Shanghai 2010 has signed China's top oil producer as its 12th global partner.

China National Petroleum Corp, also a global partner of the Beijing Olympics, will provide oil and gas as well as financial support for the 2010 event.

It is to upgrade pipelines and facilities in the city to meet the demands of world Expo 2010.

Tunnel to Expo

A 854-METER cable tunnel to serve the World Expo Shanghai 2010 was completed yesterday, Shanghai No. 2 Engineering Co said. The 3.5-meter-wide cable is the biggest power-supply tunnel under the Huangpu River.
