SHANGHAI will bake in 37 degrees Celsius heat today as the meteorological bureau issued an orange alert for hot weather at 12:30pm.
A heat wave is expected to last until next Wednesday as the plum rain season officially ends today, the bureau said.
Maximum temperatures will hover around 36 to 37 degrees during the period, weather forecasters said. Thunderstorms may hit late on Sunday but this is expected to be the only rain in the next five days, the bureau said.
