SHANGHAI police have cracked what they are calling the biggest fake invoice case in the city's history after they seized 50 suspects and more than 2.6 million counterfeit invoices.
The police authority said the counterfeited invoices were worth 50 billion yuan (US$7.1 billion) and would cost a tax loss of seven billion yuan to the country once circulated into the economy.
The network consisted of four rings and production workshops in Zhejiang and Anhui provinces, police said.
