Cabbie's honesty saves a fortune

A DAZHONG taxir drive today returned 120,000 yuan (US$17,493) to passengers who had accidentally left the fortune in the cab.

The cabbie, Wang Yunsong, from Dazhong's No. 10 branch, discovered a plastic bag with the money in it in his car after he had dropped off the passengers and driven on for about a kilometer.

He rushed to where he had dropped the passengers and found the panic-stricken couple waiting.

The passengers, named Qiu, said they had put bank books and cash worth 120,000 yuan in the plastic bag and were on their way to the husband's parents' home.

The elderly parents had been receiving medical treatment and needed money to pay their bills.

The husband put the plastic bag by the windshield when he got in the taxi but then fell asleep while his wife sat in the back.

When they got out neither thought to pick up the money - luckily one honest taxi driver did.
