THE 10th China Hangzhou West Lake International Expo will be held in the capital city of Zhejiang Province from October 18 to November 8.

Enjoying reputations as "a land of cultural heritage," "the land of silk," "the home of tea" and "the kingdom of fish and rice," Hangzhou is one of the economic centers in the Yangtze River Delta.

This year the West Lake Expo is diversified with more than one-third of international exhibitors. More than 100 conventions and events will be held, of which 43 will be new.

The new events include Hangzhou Shopping Festival, the Creative Industry Expo, China International Leisure Industry Exposition, the Performance and Entertainment Expo, and the Potential Industry Forum.

They will aim to develop Hangzhou into the hub of China's cultural innovation industry and service industry in the delta region. Other events such as the 2nd Electronic Information Symposium on Financial Service and Information Technology aims to promote the development of the information industry in the city and help build it into the "E-Commerce Capital" and "the Financial Center."

The China Hangzhou West Lake International Expo was first held in 1929 and has been held annually since the event was resumed in 2000.
