Lightning strike kills 3 in Zhejiang

THREE people were killed and four others were injured by lightning yesterday during a thunderstorm in Chun'an County, Zhejiang Province.

All seven were on a ship that had just docked in a village in Chun'an County, Hangzhou Daily reported today.

One person died at the scene and two more died in hospital. Of the injured, one had been discharged from hospital last night while the others were still receiving treatment.

The three dead men were identified as Fang Fengming, a fruit business man in Fuyang City, Liu Yuping and Hu Qingtian.

Most areas in northern Zhejiang were hit by a thunderstorm yesterday.

June to August is the peak season for thunderstorms in the province, the report said.
