Rising talent of the silver screen

Taiwan-based director Lin Shu-yu gives a speech after winning the Asian New Talent Award for Best Film for"Winds of September" in Shanghai last night, with Hong Kong showbiz doyen Eric Tsang, the film's producer, and his daughter Bowie Tsang looking on. The new talent award, a highlight of the Shanghai International Film Festival, also honored South Korean film maker Hong Hyeon-gi as Best Director for his black comedy "Thirsty, Thirsty." The special Jury Award went to Chinese mainland director Zhang Meng's "Lucky Dog."
