SIX people in east China's Zhejiang Province had died of hand, foot and mouth disease by Monday, according to the provincial health department.
The province has recorded 20,503 cases.
Wenzhou, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Shaoxing and Jinhua are the five cities with the most cases. Wenzhou, which topped the list, has recorded 6,433 cases.
Hospitals at Zhejiang now have 374 patients in wards, and 32 reported to be in a critical condition.
The Shanghai Health Bureau reported a fatal case of hand, foot and mouth disease on Monday. The dead boy was the first person to have died of HFMD in the city, where the epidemic has been controlled.
This year Shanghai reported 10,340 cases of HFMD.
A ZHEJIANG Province manslaughter suspect on the run for 15 years has been caught at Pudong International Airport. He allegedly killed a man during a dispute in 1993. Police said he had flown home to have kidney treatment....
