THERE were 3,775 cases of serious infectious disease in the city last month, the Shanghai Health Bureau said.

The top five diseases were syphilis, gonorrhea, tuberculosis, viral hepatitis and measles. There were eight deaths due to tuberculosis and viral hepatitis.
