-- Adverstisement --

RAIN or thunder storms are expected to strike again this weekend, along with a temperature drop of 2 degrees Celsius.

The rain is expected to continue until Tuesday, city weather forecasters said yesterday.

The Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said people should stay indoors over the weekend to avoid lightning.

Today there may be more than 50 millimeters of rain as a front at the Yangtze Delta Region moves north to affect the city.

The maximum daily temperature will drop to around 25 degrees.

Tomorrow there will still be rain but less of it. The temperature is expected rise back to 27 degrees - lows for today and tomorrow will be 21 degrees.

Next week there will be more rain with only three of the seven days expected to be dry, forecasters said.

Temperatures will rise when the sky clears up, and maximum temperatures will reach about 30 degrees, said the bureau.

The city is now in its "plum rain" season which will last until the end of the month.
