SIX people were killed and one was missing after a reservoir under construction collapsed in Hunan Province today, Xinhua news agency reported.
A dam on the reservoir in Yueyang County of the Province suddenly collapsed around noon. Water inside the reservoir burst out and swamping three farmers working nearby and three students swimming in the reservoir, the report said.
The students had just taken part in the college entrance exam on Saturday, the report added.
Rescuers salvaged the six bodies by 3pm. They were still searching for other people.
The city and county governments have organized an investigative team to probe the accident, said the report.
Another team from the governments has been dispatched to comfort the families of the victims, the report added.
