IRAQI Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki arrived in Tehran yesterday, kicking off a two-day visit to the country, Iran's English-language Press TV said.
Maliki was greeted by Iranian First Vice President Parviz Davoudi at Tehran's Mehrabad airport.
Maliki is expected to meet high-ranking Iranian officials to discuss exporting oil as well as importing electricity and water into the war-torn country, Press TV said.
Iraqi government spokesman said Maliki's visit is "considered a step in a series of visits aimed at forming a strategy committee to develop the relationship between the two nations."
