Students sweating on exams to feel the heat

THE city and its college entrance students will experience a relatively hot Dragon Boat Festival holiday - as well as three hot examination days which coincide with the holiday from tomorrow through Monday, weathermen said yesterday.

Tomorrow and on Sunday, the maximum temperature will reach 30 to 31 degrees Celsius. On Monday, it will fall to 28 degrees with rain or thunderstorms, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said.

It will be cloudy to overcast tomorrow and on Sunday morning, and rain is expected to start on late Sunday.

Lows will range between 24 to 26 degrees generally, but will drop to 22 degrees on Monday night.

The bureau said tomorrow and Sunday would be hot and warned people to wear hats and to apply sun lotion. The air quality will be fine.

Although temperatures will not be extremely high during the holiday, it may feel rather muggy, forecasters said.

Overcast and rainy weather is expected to continue on Tuesday, the first work day after the holiday. And temperatures will drop to between 23 and 27 degrees.
