A man ruptured his penis while making love passionately with his wife after they had not had sexual intercourse for more than two weeks because he had been too busy watching World Cup soccer games.
The man in his 40s, surnamed Xu, hadn’t missed a single match since the World Cup started, Qianjiang Evening News in Zhejiang reported on Tuesday.
The couple, who live in Jinhua City, have been married for about seven years and had a good relationship, the report said, describing Xu as in good shape and his wife as beautiful and sexy.
On Monday morning, after the Netherlands defeated Mexico, Xu returned to the bedroom and saw his wife sleeping. He felt sorry for his lack of intimacy toward her in recent weeks and woke her up. They soon started making love and due to their recent lack of sexual activity, they were more enthusiastic than usual, the report said.
They both heard a snapping sound in the middle of their love making and Xu felt some pain. They turned a light on and were surprised to see some blood and Xu’s penis bent at a 30 degree angle, the newspaper said.
The next day he had surgery for a ruptured corpora cavernosa at Jinhua Municipal Central Hospital and doctor Zhu Desheng told Xu, much to his relief, that his sex life would not be affected by the surgery, according to the report.
