Let there be lights!

Four different images of Lyon's S a i n t - J e a n C a t h e d r a l which has been lit up by a r t i s t D a m i e n F o n t a i n e for the French city's F e s t i v a l o f L i g h t s. Designers from all over the world are taking part in the four-day festival which began yesterday. The celebration expresses gratitude toward Mary, the mother of Jesus. The uniquely Lyonnaise tradition dictates that every house, along with its Christmas decorations, place candles along the outsides of all the windows to produce a spectacular effect throughout the streets. Millions of tourists come to Lyon for the event every year.
