THE Shanghai Sharks have confirmed signing Gilbert Arenas who will play in the 2012-2013 Chinese Basketball Association season wearing the No. 0 jersey.
"The Shanghai Sharks basketball club has formally signed the American player Gilbert Arenas," the Sharks said on its website.
"He will wear the number 0 while representing Shanghai during the 2012-2013 CBA season."
Arenas played with the Memphis Grizzlies last season. The former NBA All-Star point guard should be available for the Sharks when they face defending CBA champions Beijing Ducks in the opening game of the season in Beijing this Saturday.
Shanghai's first home game is next Friday against Shandong Lions.
The Sharks kicked off their ticket sales for the new season. A single game ticket ranges between 50 yuan to 280 yuan while the home games against Qingdao, Beijing, Xinjiang and Guangdong are more expensive with prices ranging from 60-to-320 yuan, the team said.
